Piaggio India to Assemble Moto Guzzi and Aprilia Locally

The Piaggio India has started working to make its presence in the country. In order to do the same, the company is looking forward to assemble its bigger displacement products locally. Mr. Stefano Pelle, CEO at Piaggio India and Mr. Sanjeev Goyle, Executive VP of Two-Wheeler business in India, says that the firm has started working towards the expansion of the company's existence and pertinence of its motorcycle business. The Aprilia and Moto Guzzi are the two major companies, which are selling their products in the country, and whose subsidiaries are owned by Piaggio.

The Piaggio India has intentions to work towards bringing down the CKD kits of the selected motorcycles from the Aprilia and Moto Guzzi, both. The CKD kits will then get assembled at the Baramati, Maharashtra located Piaggio India facility. After the commencement of the assembling of the CKD units, the firm will concentrate over the expansion of the dealerships across the country. The Piaggio India is planning to inaugurate new dealerships in the country, which is based over the Italian Motoplex. The Italian Motoplex theme will allow the company to sell various brands under one roof.

However, this theme will not comprise of Ape products, it will completely be dealing with the two-wheeler maker brands. Talking about the Vespa scooters, the manufacturer has recently shut down the Vespa LX model in the country and will soon be replacing it with the Vespa Primavera model. Although, it will take some months for the Vespa Primavera to get launched officially over the Indian ground. However, the step taken by the firm, of assembling the CKD kits of the motorcycles locally will also help to make them less pricey. Being assembled locally, it will help the Vespa scooters to increase their popularity among Indians.

Eventually, let's wait for the Piaggio India to commence the local assembly operations. We will see whether it will affect the pricing of the Aprilia and Moto Guzzi motorcycles or not. Stay tuned with SAGMart to know more about the Piaggio India and Vespa Primavera launch.
