Piaggio to Shut down Vespa LX Model in India

The Piaggio's very own scooter brand, Vespa, is spreading its wings in the country. The well-famed Italian scooter brand has entered in the Indian shores via the international Piaggio automaker. The Italian scooter manufacturer is currently offering four models under the scooter range for the Indian enthusiasts. The models include Vespa S, VX, LX and the lately introduced Vespa Elegante; a limited edition scooter. According to the sources, we've got to know that the Piaggio is discontinuing the Vespa LX model in India.

Vespa-LX-125

The Vespa LX model was launched in the year, 2012, carrying stylish retro-looks, powerful 125cc engine and amazing riding performance. Well, it seems that the Piaggio is looking to refresh its Indian product portfolio by removing old models and it clearly vindicates that the firm will soon come-up with some new-fangled models. Well, you really don't miss out the LX model, as the Vespa VX is already here to entertain you, carrying the very same technical features, attractive graphics and new body colors.

Vespa-LX-125

The Vespa LX-125 is featuring a 3-Valve, 4-Stroke, single-cylinder mill. The 125cc displaced engine is mated to a CVT transmission and is tuned to generate a maximum power of 10 BHP @ 7500 revs and achieves a peak torque of 10 Nm @ 7500 RPM. After the discontinuation of the LX model, the other available models of the Italian brand scooters are Vespa VX, S and Vespa Elegant (Limited Edition). Apart from this, the product portfolio range of Vespa scooters offered by the Piaggio will be equipped with disc brakes at the front. As of now, the LX model is only scooter which was being offered with the drum brake variant.

Eventually, the Piaggio is planning to launch a fuel-injected engined scooter incorporated with 150cc and 125cc displacements, both. Apparently, we need to wait for the next announcement made by the firm regarding any new launches and offered variants of the Vespa brand scooter.
