Do You Vespa? Yeah, that's correct; I am talking about the most famous scooter in the Indian market these days. The Vespa scooter is so much in trend because of its retro look along with its stylish curves and cues. Last month, the company had released a TV commercial globally, giving the scooter a completely new direction and showing the iconic scooter in all new different colors.
Now, Piaggio, the Italian automobile manufacturer is planning to introduce a new Vespa scooter in the Indian market. The upcoming scooter will be named as Vespa Elegante and this will be the fourth scooter under this brand. Till now, the company will be selling three models of the scooter in the Indian market, which includes Vespa VX 125, Vespa LX 125 and the latest one is Vespa S. The upcoming scooter is based upon the surviving model of VX 125.
More recently, the company had launched a limited edition model of VX 125, designated as Vespa Esclusivo. This exclusive edition had received some cosmetic changes like the Esclusivo numbered badge, which really makes this scooter exclusive and the limited edition is limited to only 1000 units.
Coming to the Vespa Elegante, it is expected that the powered will get its power by the 3-Valve, OHC engine, which gives an engine displacement of 125cc. The engine is capable to churn out a total power of 9.9BHP and a maximum torque of 10.6Nm. What makes it more special it its round headlamp, 5-spoke alloy wheels and front triangular grill, these are the cosmetic changes received by the scooter. And, technically it will be receiving front disc brakes, tubeless tyres and on the top of that ABS will be coming as an option.
The Vespa Elegante will be believed to launch in the course of festivals in India, probably in the month of November, 2014. It will be coming along with a price tag of Rs 79,000 approx. And, yes, I know that you'll be eagerly waiting for the paint scheme of this new scooter. Well, the scooter will make its availability in various color options like Pearl White or Marrakech Brown.
