Renault Captur India Launch Confirmed by This Year End

French carmaker, Renault has confirmed that it will roll out its new Captur SUV in India by the end of this year. It will be a flagship model for the manufacturer in the country and will be positioned above the Duster in the existing product lineup. As the company claims, the forthcoming SUV is a premium offering with a strong crossover DNA!

Under the hood, the Captur which is developed on the shared MO platform is likely to share similar powertrain options from its Duster sibling as like as underpinned chassis. The same 1.5-litre petrol engine and the 1.5-litre K9K diesel motor will perform propelling duties with the manual gearbox transmission. However, the top end automatic gearbox option along with 4x4 version is expected later in time.

At the featuring front, the upcoming Renault crossover that is likely to go in direct competition with the Hyundai Creta and the Jeep Compass, will feature a dual-tone theme, a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with media navigation and Bluetooth connectivity, and more inside the cabin. While, at the skin, you will find the embellishment of full-LED headlamps flanked by LED daytime running lights, and a contrast roof, which will be offered with various customization options. There will be a long list of features on board, on the India bound model but they are not officially unveiled yet.

In the Indian automotive industry, the French carmaker has strengthened itself with over 300 dealerships across the country. Also, the brand is ahead in the race as it recently introduced a fully-functional mobile showroom known as ‘Passion on Wheels’, in order to expand its reach to a wider range of audience in small cities and let them experience the Renault brand.
