Renault Captur India Launch Delayed; Expected in November this Year

Renault Captur, an upcoming flagship SUV for the French carmaker in India, was expected to hit the Indian automotive segment near Diwali. The car launch has been delayed and now is speculated in the first half of November. The forthcoming SUV that will be positioned above the Duster in the Indian lineup, is likely to be priced in the vicinity of Rs 12-15 lakh. However, its bookings are still on at the token amount of Rs 25,000.

At launch, the Captur launch will only be offered with a single powertrain option. Under the hood, the 1.5-litre diesel engine will churn out the maximum power of 110PS along with 250Nm of torque. While the power transmission will be handled by a 6-speed manual unit. On the other hand, the 1.5-litre petrol single will be provided in association with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The cutting-edge technical aspects such as automatic transmission and the four-wheel-drive system will not be in options in ready to launch Captur.

The new Captur will be launched with two customization options at the cosmetic front- Diamond Deck and Urban Connect (distinct graphics job to stand out SUV from others). It will feature LED headlamps, rain sensing wipers, 17-inch alloy wheels, a touchscreen infotainment system, smart access card, infinity instrument cluster, rear AC vents and the safety bits such as dual airbags and ABS as standard fitments.

Moreover, a new Platine variant of the 2017 Renault Captur will also be offered. The special variant will get a host of top-end attributes comprising golden interior theme with leather seats, push-button start, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, cruise control, hill start assist and rear parking camera.

Renault India that has recently introduced the facility of fully-functional mobile showroom known as ‘Passion on Wheels to approach a wider range of audience in small cities, has a strong dealership network of 300 showrooms across the country. It will help the French carmaker to generate good sales figures for the new Captur. Also, the audience from small cities will also be able to experience the Renault brand from Passion on Wheels.
