The French multinational car making company, Renault has made a promulgation via an email that it will unveil its upcoming completely new compact hatchback on May 20 in this ongoing year. If reports are to be believed, then this runabout, which is codenamed as 'XBA' will be known as Renault Kayou in our country. Interestingly, the manufacturer will acquaint its any model for the very first time globally outside the European countries. The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of this brand, Mr. Carlos Ghosn will uncover the hatchback in the Indian automobile market.
It would undergo production in Chennai at the Renault-Nissan Alliance plant and is expected to get a lovely exterior with all necessary cosmetic components that will be enough to attract anyone at a peep. Apart from the outlook, the upcoming Renault Kayou also seems to have an appreciable interior, which would be sufficient to offer seating for a small family and render them an enjoyable journey via its magnificent entertaining equipments. Based on the same CMF-A modular architecture as the next forthcoming Datsun car, the XBA will be available in only gasoline variant with a latest 0.8 litre three cylinder unit.
This powertrain is reported to be mated to a manual and an optional automated manual transmissions. Renault is probably to set up its Kayou/XBA in India in the second half of 2015 between the anticipated price of INR 3-4 Lac. It would bring a serious challenge for the Hyundai Eon, Datsun Redi-Go, Maruti Alto and Chevrolet Spark.
