Renault Zoe Electric Hatchback to be revealed at Auto Expo 2018

The upcoming Delhi Auto Expo 2018 has generated great buzz and excitement in social and electronic media alike. Jumping on the bandwagon Renault India did a surprise teaser release of its offering for Indian roads via its Instagram handle. The teaser hints at the launch of The Renault Zoe, a pure electric hatchback, at this year's expo. The dark and blue theme of the teaser with focus on the cars boomerang-shaped LED light guide and headlamp successfully raised anticipations from all corners.

The motor powering this purely electric hatchback produces 92 PS and 225 Nm in the R90 model and 88 PS and 220 Nm in the Q90 variant. There are two battery variants:
a Z.E. 40 battery with 41 kWh capacity or a 22 kWh battery. The R90 variant is capable of giving an average of 240 Km per charge. Similarly, the driving range for the above two variants is 403 km and 370 km respectively.

When it comes to size, this EV is 4,084 mm in length, 1,730 mm in width, excluding external mirrors, 1,562 mm in height. The hatchbacks sit on a 2,588 mm wheelbase.The nose type Renault logo at the front also serves as a charging port. The boot space is 338 liters and is expandable up to 1,225 liters with the rear bench seat folded flat.

In all likeliness, Renault will introduce its first EV by 2022. Bound by the price driven Indian Car market, India is most likely to get a CMF-A platform based electric vehicle.
