Royal Enfield Himalayan Launch Confirmed on February 2

Royal Enfield has made an announcement about the global launch of the much awaited RE Himalayan on February 2, just a day before the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo. Apparently, the automaker is trying to flash the spotlight on the extremely anticipated motorcycle exactly a day prior to one of the top automotive events in South-East Asia. Mr. Siddhartha Lal, MD & CEO Eicher Motors Limited, is going to host the worldwide launch.

As per the visuals, the bike sports minimal styling, fits best in the category of an off-road Tourer. Built on a new chassis, designed by UK's Harris Performance Parts, the bike has been revised to acquire the Himalayan character. The Royal Enfield's subsidiary has also done the job on the last unveiled Continental GT's chassis. The instrument cluster embraces an odometer, trip meter, gear positition indicator, temperature gauge, clock, tachometer, fuel gauge and a compass.

Although, the company didn't say a single word about the Powertrain of the motorcycle, but still we can expect that the keenly awaited Tourer is going to get a 410cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine, generating a power of 28 PS and a torque of 32 NM via a five-speed gearbox. Albeit, the figures are purely fictitious. The RE Himalayan will be the first motorcycle getting mono shock rear suspension. The latest spied snaps revealed a pretty clear picture of the bike showing an uplifted pillion seat, handle bar and seat are designed in such a manner that are perfect for a comfortable riding position. A round shaped headlight fitted with a windshield.

While we are unaware of the exact price of the Himalayan yet, chances are there that it would likely be priced under INR 2 lakhs mark and placed beside the KTM Duke 390 and the Benelli TNT 300.
