Royal Enfield postpones the launch of Himalayan

The Indian two wheeler motorcycle maker, Royal Enfield has shocked the Indian automobile bazaar by postponing the launch of awaited adventure motorcycle, Himalayan, that was to be launched in November, 2015. According the sources, the motorcycle is going to be introduced at 2016 Auto Expo, in February 2016.

Earlier, there were many rumors that the motorcycle will be launched in November, 2015. It was also forecasted that the adventure motorcycle may be exposed at the Royal Enfield Rider Mania in Goa but it doesn’t seem like that. Talking about the powertrain of Himalayan, the power of the motorcycle comes from a new four stroke, single cylinder, 410cc motor. The air cooled engine is able to churn out a maximum power of 28 PS and a peak torque of 32 Nm. The mill will also be developed with a counter balancer that will be used to reduce vibrations.

Moreover, the powerplant will be fitted on a new double cradle frame that is made by the UK based Harris Performance, which is known as motorcycle chassis and components maker. Same company developed the chassis of the Royal Continental GT as well. Additionally, the Royal Enfield Himalayan is expected to arrive with two variants and motorcycle is to be priced between INR 1.65 Lakh and 1.85 Lakh.
