Royal Enfield Revises Products Price to Pass On GST Benefits

As we all know, the Goods and Service Tax (GST) is going to be implemented in India from 1 July 2017. So the manufacturers are offering discount on their products to pass on GST benefits to the customers before its arrival here. In the same vein, the Chennai based prominent cruiser bikes manufacturer, Royal Enfield has revised the on-road price of its products, which will be came into effect from 17 June 2017.

Under GST, the levied tax rate for majority of two wheelers will be 28 per cent as compared to current 30 per cent rate. While, the bikes over the 350cc displacement engine will attract an additional cess of 3 per cent which takes the cumulative sum of total levied tax in GST regime to 31 per cent.

Although, the company has made announcement for prices revisions, but the altered pricing for the products have not been revealed. Yet, the company officials have hinted to alter prices across the complete lineup. Here in India, the bike maker have the Thunderbird, Classic, Continental GT, Bullet and the Himalayan in its lineup to purchase.

Royal Enfield is pre-emptively extending the GST benefits to its customers and is ready to implement the on-road price revision on purchases beginning 17th June 2017 on products where applicable.
