Skoda India Announces Kodiaq SUV Launch on October 4, 2017

Ultimately the launch of an all-new Kodiaq premium SUV has been confirmed by the Czech carmaker. The first proper 7-seat SUV from Skoda is slated to launch on October 4, 2017. While the pricing for this full-fledged SUV will be in the range of INR 26 lakh to INR 30 lakh (ex-showroom). The official bookings for the Kodiaq are not commenced by the company yet the dealerships across the country have started accepting unofficial bookings at the token amount in between INR 51,000 to INR 1 lakh. In the SUV segment, the Kodiaq will go in fierce competition with the rivals such as the Ford Endeavour and the Toyota Fortuner along with its distant cousin-the Tiguan.

The Skoda Kodiaq is developed on the Volkswagen’s MQB platform which is a shared unit with other offerings for the carmaker comprising Passat, Octavia, Skoda Superb and the Tiguan.

Beneath the chiseled front end, the Kodiaq is packed with a 2.0-litre diesel engine. Accompanied by a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission, the mill is capable of generating the peak power of 150PS along with 340Nm torque. Other fitments to support power transmission-a Haldex all-wheel-drive system, paddle shifters and various drive modes will also be there. The same 2.0-litre diesel engine does duty on the sibling Tiguan.

If the interior of the Kodiaq SUV is concerned, it is decorated with the premium interior which is complemented by a bucket full of top end technological aspects comprising a 6.5-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth connectivity, SmartLink system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and MirrorLink compatibility. Other convenient features on the premium SUV are rear AC vents, automatic climate control and ambient lighting that will look after occupants with great care.

While at the skin, the Kodiaq that follows its traditional design philosophy gets signature style butterfly grille, angular lines, all-new LED headlamps with LED elements, new beefy bumper, wheel arches, wrap around LED tail lights, integrated rear spoiler and much more to allure the audience who are looking to opt one in SUV segment.
