Special Edition Bagger 2018 Indian Chieftain Elite Explained

A new special edition bagger from the Polaris has been unveiled. Brought up on the Indian Chieftain chassis, the motorcycle is named as the 2018 Indian Chieftain Elite. Dipped in a new colour scheme, the new Chieftain Elite receives a host of accessories.

Apparently, this latest Chieftain Elite version looks identical to the Chieftain model as it only received a host of visual tweaks in the form of a custom silver paint scheme and accessories such as a 19-inch 10-spoke front wheel, 200-Watt audio system, LED headlamp, adjustable windshield, billet aluminium floorboards and leather seats.

As claimed by the Indian, the custom silver paint scheme is a homage to the silver mines in the Black Hills of South Dakota, that is applied on the motorcycles by hands. And it took 25 hours to complete the paint job of a single unit. Also, finding similarity in paintwork on two bikes are impossible.

The 2018 Chieftain Elite is not only the visual upgradation of the Chieftain but also it gets an improved powertrain. The Thunder Stroke V-twin engine of the Chieftain is put on new Chieftain Elite chassis with a 116 stage 3-big-bore kit. Resulting, the displacement increased from 1819cc to 1900cc that induced the markup power and torque output at 100bhp and 172Nm from 84bhp and 149Nm. Further, this premium bagger also gets the electronic aids of ABS and a cruise control system.

In the US market, the Indian Chieftain Elite is available at the price tag of USD 31,499 (Rs 20.51 lakhs) as an introductory price. On the other hand, in India, the bookings for the lately launched Roadmaster Elite has been opened. Though the Chieftain Elite will be provided for the Indian market or not, it is still unclear.
