Sportier Ford EcoSport S Sunproof To Introduce This Month

At the time of Freestyle launch, it was announced by the company to launch the EcoSport’s sportier version, the EcoSport S, in May 2018.

It was spotted recently and it is like the version exported from India to the USA. Although the spied version will not be that much feature loaded as compared to US-spec version, obviously it will be features loaded with Titanium+ packs.

This time the EcoSport S is coming with 1.0-litre turbocharged EcoBoost petrol engine, most anticipated and awaited version. The 1.0-litre EcoBoost is not available right now with the updated model (launched last year end). The company mentioned that the EcoSport S will be accessible through the 1.0-litre EcoBoost, whereas the remaining engines like 1.5-litre diesel and petrol engines will be restricted to be used in the regular models.

The Ford EcoSport 1.0-litre EcoBoost facelift was attached to a 5-speed manual transmission named iB5 which is available with the 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines. The anticipated EcoSport S will take a new 6-speed manual. It is expected that the Ford will get a new 6-speed manual instead of the 5-speed manual cross all models. The same has been done with the Euro-spec EcoSport facelift. The EcoSport S will take the updated suspension to get the experience of the US-spec model.

The EcoSport S will get the new gunmetal finished alloys, grille, a sportier exterior design and outside rearview mirrors. It is expected to get Bi-xenon projector headlamps as the Brazil-spec EcoSport Storm version.

Coming to the interior, it features fabric+leather upholstery, color-coded accents, and a sunroof. It gets a large color driver info screen, an updated instrument cluster, and chrome rings. It will be more appealing than the currently available EcoSport.

The Ford EcoSport S will get the premium features in the existing range-topping Titanium+ variant. The regular EcoSport Titanium+ petrol manual is available with a price tag of Rs. 10.52 lakh and the automatic one will be at Rs 11.35 lakh.

The diesel Titanium+ will be priced at Rs. 11.04 lakh in India. Considering the additional features and expensive EcoBoost petrol engine, we expect the EcoSport S to be priced at Rs. 11.5 lakh. The EcoSport is priced relatively high when compared with rivals like the Tata Nexon and Maruti Vitara Brezza, but it may get the attention of buyers who want more over Creta/Captur.
