Suzuki Recalls Defective GSX-S1000 And GSX-S1000F

Suzuki, the Japanese two wheeler manufacturer issued a recall of its superbikes GSX-S1000 and GSX-S1000F in the U.S. Market. The automaker made this recall for the certain units which are facing the technical issue on front brake caliper. The affected models are equipped with the improper sealing in the brake piston cylinder that may be damaged, resulting in brake fluid leakage. If break fluid leaks than braking performance would be effected and increasing the risk of crash.

As per the report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the automaker stated that 600 affected units of these GSX models have been recalled for the replacment of the defective front brake. The affected Suzuki GSX-S1000 was manufactured between 10th July and 24th August 2015 and GSX-S1000F was created between 21st July and 27th July this year.. Suzuki informing the owners that the faulty front caliper brake will replaced free of cost.

Suzuki GSX-S1000F

These models were introduced in India in May 2015. Both the GSX-S1000F and GSX-S1000 shares the same 999cc, four-stroke, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine. The motor delivers the power output of 144 BHP at 10,000 RPM and torque of 105.5 Nm at 9,500 RPM. The engine is mated to a six-speed transmission. The motorcycles is also equipped with Anti-Locking Braking System (ABS).

Possibily, the shipment of the faulty units might have been placed to the Indian market as well. Yet Suzuki not reported about any affected unit issue in India. If the more units found affected with the same issue than automaker could recall GSX-S1000 and GSX-S1000F globally.
