Tata Hexa to be Sold through Regular Dealerships

Spied earlier at the company’s dealership in Gujarat, the most anticipated model Tata Hexa is coming to the shores by January 2017. The automaker’s dealership had already started taking bookings for such unit at a token amount of INR 11,000, while deliveries will commence from the second week of January. Now, a reports from the Autocar India suggests that despite using a separate outsells source like Nexa dealership, the upcoming SUV will be sold through regular channels. It will allow the company to offer this model across the country from the day first, with dealership such as Nexa is only available in selected cities.

Underpinned by the company’s run-of-the SUV Aria platform, the premium Tata Hexa SUV will be offered in fourteen different variants that mentioned in our earlier report. Dimensionally, the all new 2017 Hexa SUV measures 4,788 mm in length, 1,903 mm in width and 1,791 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2850 mm. Furthermore, it comes with a decent ground clearance of 200 mm and fuel tank of capacity 60-litre. To further enhance the off-road capabilities, it features the pair of large 19-inch alloy wheels and rugged body cladding.

In terms of the powertrain, the SUV will be powered by a 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel engine which is currently breathing the new Safari Storme. The base variant of the Hexa will be attached by the Varicor 320 which produces 148 Bhp of power at 4,000 rpm and 320 Nm at 1,700 - 2,700 rpm, while the higher-spec trim will be gifted the Varicor 400 motor under their hood that is capable enough to make run the unit with a massive power of 154 Bhp at 4,000 rpm with a peak torque of 400 Nm at the same rpm. A 6-speed manual or an automatic gearbox will be there to help the engine for transmitting the power to rear wheels only. An AWD (all wheel drive) setup is also there but as an optional unit.

For safety, the Hexa SUV house total six airbags, disk brakes for all four wheels along with ABS with EBD facility. Features like a speed sensing door lock mechanism and ESP (Electronic Stability Programme) are also there. Well, no such detail have been out about the pricing aspects, but, it is believed to be laid in the buckets of INR 10 Lakhs to INR 15 Lakh (Ex-showroom).
