Third Generation Skoda Superb Gets a New Top End Variant in India

Just one day ago, Skoda had launched the third generation model of its popular sedan car, Superb. Now, the source has confirmed that it has received Laurin and Klement treatment for the top end trim. The L&K treatment is usually meant  for comfort and dynamic features, which comes only with top end variants. The starting price has been fixed at INR 22.68 Lakhs and goes up to INR 29.36 Lakhs for the top ranging model (Both ex-showroom Mumbai).
 
The major difference between the base variant and L&K trim is its cosmetic features such as front fenders, specific leather upholstery, dashboard, 17-inch alloy wheels, tyre pressure monitoring system and door sills on the gearshift knob. Besides these, it also comes with most unique feature named – Virtual boot pedal. It means the power tailgate opens electronically as soon as you swipe your foot underneath the boot.

Skoda has also provided the most attractive interior features to its new generation model. Starting with the 'Boss Button', it will allow you to adjust the front passenger seat from the rear. Along with this, the company has also offered the 12-way adjustable seats at the first row with an electronic lumbar support. In addition, a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with 12-speaker 610 W Canton sound system, and a color display with instrument cluster are also available as a standard attachment in the newly introduced variant. Some other exciting functions like 3-Zone climate control and ventilated front seats have also been made available for the convenience of occupants.

Mechanically, the top end variants of Superb gets both petrol and diesel option. The former is powered by a 1.8-litre and mated to a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox. While the latter comes with a 2.0-litre that is paired with a 6-speed DSG unit.
