Toyota And Suzuki Come Together For a Joint Venture

The major Japanese automobile manufacturers, Toyota Motor Corp and Suzuki Motor Corp made an announcement regarding their joint collaboration to explore the technological research program in the field of environment, safety and information technology besides, the conventional automotive R & D.

The joint venture aims to address Suzuki’s sense of uncertainty “in the face of the advanced and future technology R&D” and Toyota’s lag in “establishment of standardisations and partnership with other companies” when compared to competitors in North America and Europe. As per the brand’s statement, “Toyota and Suzuki just started exploring on any opportunities for collaboration, with the belief that it will help both companies solve their respective challenges.”

Toyota And Suzuki Come Together

Further exploring the area of interest, the brands also emphasised to work together on the infrastructure development and new industrial standards. Both the automakers come together over a year after the six year old Volkswagen and Suzuki partnership came to an end.

Commenting on the partnership, Akio Toyoda, president of Toyota, said, “As the environment which surrounds the automobile industry has been changing drastically, we need to have the ability to respond to changes in order to survive.”

It is also being said that this collaboration will not impact the way of doing business in India by both the companies. “This discussion is based on the prerequisite that both companies continue to compete with each other in a fair and independent manner,” a statement said.
