Due to the relaxation on hybrid and battery-run cars by the Delhi Government, Toyota India has reduced the price of the Camry hybrid model by 2.3 Lakhs in India. The price slash could also result in the increase in sales. As per the previous report, the Government reduced excise duty for hybrid cars from 24% to 12.5%. It seems that the Toyota Camry hybrid has received a significant price slash. Notedly, the premium hybrid sedan has been popular in the market since its launch. Now, going through such strategic price cut, the model is likely to attract more customers in the coming days.
As of now, the revised ex-showroom Delhi price for the Toyota Camry Hybrid stands is available at INR 30.9 lakhs, which is close to the price of the petrol variant that comes at INR 30.28 lakhs. The price cut is likely to witness a good amount of sales in the occasional odd-even programme in the Delhi region. The diesel ban in Delhi is going to enhance the growth of the Camry hybrid for sure. According to the sales chart, between January 2016 to April 2016 period, the automaker sold around 419 Camry Hybrid models whereas it managed to sell only 44 units of the regular Camry.
However, the regular Petrol variant of the Camry continues to be priced at INR 30.28 lakhs.The hybrid version comes powered by a 2.5-litre petrol engine which produces 160 PS of power and 213 Nm of torque, and an effective electric motor that delivers 143 PS and 270 Nm of torque. The combined unit output goes up to 205 PS. The car is also functional with only all-electric mode.
It offers an array of features and safety kits such as touchscreen infotainment system, rear camera, smart key, 3-zone automatic climate control, ventilated front seats, powered driver's seat, 7 airbags, ABS, Vehicle Stability Control, Hill Start Assist, ECB, ORVMs and steering enabled with memory setting.
