Triumph Launches Iconic Cafe Racer Thruxton R at Rs 10.9 lakh

Finally, the wait is over, four months ahead of its unveiling at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo, the iconic cafe racer offering from the Triumph’s modern classic range of motorcycles, Thruxton R made its debut today in India. The beautiful cafe racer hits the Indian market at the price tag of Rs. 10.9 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Apparently, Thruxton R holds a circular headlamp with chrome fitting, sculpted fuel tank with Monza-style fuel filler cap, a single seat with a rear cowl, chopped front and rear fender, etc. Moreover, the bar end placed rear view mirrors, gold painted beefy USD front fork, as well as the uncovered massive powertrain and fatty tyres with spoke wheels, are the major point of attraction on the cafe racer.

2016 Triumph Thruxton R

Mechanically, the 2016 Triumph Thruxton R is powered by a 1,200cc, parallel-twin motor big displacement engine. The bike gets the propels maximum power of 98 PS at 6,750 rpm and the accelerating torque of 112 Nm at 4,950 rpm. The mill is linked with a 6-speed transmission. The refreshed Thruxton R now gets the improved torque figure and fuel efficiency by 62 percent and 11 percent respectively. The offered Suspension setup comprises shod with Showa upside-down front forks and adjustable Ohlins rear shock. The braking is done by the dual discs at the front and the single disc at rear with famous Brembo Monobloc cycle part. While, the claimed service interval time for the Thruxton R is 16000 km.

On the electronics side, the Thruxton R is featured with ride by wire technology, switchable traction control system, USB charging unit and riding modes with options of Rain, Road and Sport.

Furthermore, the optional customization for the new Triumph Thruxton has also been provided with two body kits- cafe racer and track racer kit. Apart from this, around 160 accessories will be offered for the customization of the new Triumph Thruxton R.
