TVS Apache RTR 200 FI with ABS Teases Online

TVS Apache RTR 200 FI, ABS, which was announced to launch in January 2016, after a long wait, it has finally been teased online. The motorcycle is all geared to hit the Indian ground anytime soon and ahead its arrival, the bike maker has released a teaser image of the Apache 200 on its official Facebook page, with the tagline, ‘Something Exciting is Coming Your Way!”.

With this new teaser image, it is indicated that the Chennai based auto major is ready to roll out the full fledged Apache 200. The company had already revealed the Apache 200 FI with ABS will be the part of TVS lineup in the 3rd quarter of 2017. A new site (https://www.tvsapache.com/rtr-200-abs) for Apache FI ABS, which is different than the standard Apache 200 Carb (https://www.tvsapache.com/rtr-200), had launched.

The reason behind the delay in the launch of Apache 200 FI is the high demand for the motorcycle in the global markets and the emission norms transition from BS-III to more stringent BS-IV emission norms. Now with the increase in production of ABS, FI Apache 200, the FI variants are all set for India launch. Earlier than this, TVS was focused to cater export demand since now.

In terms of features, the TVS Apache FI with ABS will get front and rear disc brakes with dual channel ABS, fully digital instrument console, clip-on handle bars, LED pilot lamps, LED tail lights and split seats. There is an optional Pirelli tyres variant for the FI with ABS Apache 200.

TVS Apache RTR 200 is propelled by a 197.75 cc single-cylinder 4-V engine. Mated to a 5-speed transmission, the carburettor version churns out the maximum power of 20.5 PS at 8,500 rpm along with 18.1 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. While the fuel injected variant will pump out 21 PS of power at 8,500 rpm with the same torque out of the carb variant.

Back in Jan 2016, at the launch of Apache 200 Carb, TVS had announced that FI variant will carry the starting price sticker of INR 1.15 lakh, ex-Delhi. But, it will not be the price for the bike when will officially launch in Sep this year.
