Will TVS Radeon Able to Stand Against Hero Splendor, Let's Check Out

For a long time in the Indian market, Hero Splendor Plus looks decent yet stylish in the segment. It features rectangular headlight with cowl, a spacious-comfortable seat and a sturdy grab rail with a luggage rack. In terms of styling, the motorcycle comes draped in modern avatar with new body graphics, alloy wheels and new paint scheme. Also, one thing it led the market in the segment. In terms of powertrain both the competitors, the TVS Radeon and the Hero Splendor Plus are packed with the similar type of powertrain, a single cylinder, air cooled engine. However, they share different displacement volume of 109.7cc and 102cc respectively. They come paired with a four-speed manual transmission. The churned power of the TVS Radeon bolted unit is 8.3bhp at 7,000 rpm while the transmitted torque is 8.7 Nm @ 5,000 rpm. On the other hand, without much difference, the Splendor Plus uses 8.3 bhp @ 7,000 rpm and 8.31Nm @ 7,500 rpm. Comparatively, TVS Radeon is slightly more torquey though that difference doesn’t even matter.

Priced at INR 48,400 (ex-showroom, Delhi), TVS Radeon with alloy wheels and drum brakes is an affordable offering as compared to the Hero Splendor Plus top end variant that costs INR 51,400. Other than this, the motorcycle features premium bits including headlamp with chrome bezels, golden engine cover, brown seat, car type instrument console, and synchronised braking system. In terms of power both the bikes use similar type engine with almost identical power figures.

If the motorcycle appreciated by the masses, the TVS Radeon could turn out a game changer for the Pune based automaker. Well, it wouldn’t be that easy the Splendor Plus is the leader in the segment, the Radeon can bite in market share. Though, giving a tough competition is not easy.
