Volkswagen has launched the updated version of its Polo hatchback with two variants TSI and TDI. The newly introduced models are packed with various features like, electrically adjustable ORVMs, cruise control and cooled glove box etc. these features are also found in the brand's Vento model. With the addition of all these elements, the price of the variants will go up by INR 10,000 to INR 15,000 as compared to the existing model.
Coming to the mechanical configuration, its TSI trim will continue to carry the 1.2 litre petrol motor that has the maximum capacity to deliver 105 PS of power and 175 Nm of torque. Likewise, the TDI variant will be offered by the 1.5 litre diesel unit that can churn out the power measuring 105 PS and will be torqued at 250 Nm. For transmission, the engine will be coupled to a seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox in the former trim while for the latter there will be a five-speed manual facility.
Apart from the above mentioned aspects, the technicalities of the vehicle will not witness any modification. The company has reportedly launched the updated Polo without any official announcement. However, speculations suggest that the model will be soon found on sale in the company showrooms. As Fiat is gearing up to introduce the Abarth Punto Evo hatchback soon in the country, Volkswagen has intelligently upgraded its own model so as to keep ahead of its competitors.
