Acer CB3-531: The Budget Chromebook with 15.6-inch Big Screen

Acer has almost thrilled the New York City with its slew of devices. One Chromebook has also got the chance to show its competency over there. Acer Chromebook 15 (CB3-531) is the device which has been launched with a staggering budget price tag.

Prime focus of this notebook is its 15.6-inch screen and the wallet-friendly price which is just $199.99. Acer has given a new direction to the Chromebook devices by adding a large screen and powerful specs. Earlier, the PC maker had brought its first Chromebook with 15.6-inch display at $249,99 at CES 2015 and now, reducing the price, the company has brought another device with more powerful specs.

Acer CB3-531 runs on Chrome OS and to enhance the viewing experience, company has crafted a 15.6-inch LED-backlit TFT LCD display with HD (1366x768) resolution. Company has not forgotten its customers’ comfort in any way and blessed its display with anti-glare property. This new Chromebook 15 is equipped with dual front-facing speakers.

Well, company has put the device at the budget cost, but it needs some compromise. The low price tells the processor to sacrifice and in result, we have received Intel Celeron N2830 dual-core processor. However, 2GB RAM is here to compliment this chipset. This Chrome OS based device is paired with 16GB solid-state storage.

After compromising on one side, company has decided to boost the device with long life. And, this new Chromebook has lived for upto 11.5 hours in a charge. It supports 802.11ac Wi-Fi connectivity. Company has tried to make it durable. This Chromebook can survive 60kg of force and the corners of the device can bear 45cm of drops. It weighs 2.0kg and measures 383 x 256 x 24.2 mm.

The CB3-531 offers Bluetooth 4.0, USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports, an HDMI, and an SD card reader support. It will hit the market of North America in July at $199.99 while EMEA will receive this laptop in June at €249.
