Asus Launched its R558UQ Laptop With Intel Kaby Lake Processors at Rs 48,990

Asus, the well known techno manufacturing and developing firm has now updated its notebook series with the launch of its new R558UQ laptop in India. The new laptop by the company is an upgraded version of its previous R558 laptop, which was launched in June 2016. The new R558UQ will be made available in two variants, from which first one is powered by Intel Core i5 processor and second one will be powered by Intel i7 processor, both of them will get a price tag of Rs 48,990 and Rs 59,990,respectively.

Just like its predecessor the R558UQ also features USB Type-C Ports and Nvidia GeForce 940 MX (N16S-GTR) graphics coupled with 2GB of DDR3 video RAM. Furthermore, it is also blessed with a VGA webcam, an SD card reader support, and a 1TB 5400RPM HDD. The laptop also gets the availability of a USB-2.0 port, USB-3.0 port, and USB 3.1 Type-C port.

Peter Chang, Regional Head, South Asia and Country Manager, System Business Group, Asus India said, “The demand for the mainstream notebooks has been steadily increasing over the years and hence this segment will be one of our key focus areas this year.”

As per further specifications of the new laptop are concerned, the Asus R558UQ is blessed with a 15.6-inch full-HD LED-backlit display of resolution 1920X1080 pixels at 200 nits. Powering the laptop are two processors, as we have mentioned above that the laptop is introduced in two variants, in which one is powered by 2.5GHz Intel Core i5-7200U processor whereas the other one is powered by a 2.7GHz Intel Core i7-7500U processor. Bothe of the processors are paired up with 8GB of DDR4 RAM. The company also announced that a 4GB of DDR4 RAM will also be introduced later.

The device is backed up by a 2-cell 38 Whr Li-ion battery pack and the connectivity options on the board include Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0, Ethernet jack, HDMI, and a headphone jack. An additional feature of a chiclet keyboard with Asus' Smart Gesture and Splendid software is also made available by the company. The Core i7 will be available in Glossy Dark Brown colour variant while the Core i5 model will be seen in Matt Golden, Glossy Dark Brown, Red and Dark Blue colour options.
