Reports: Xiaomi Mi Pad will Take Time For Indian Shores

The iPad Mini-rival, Xiaomi's Mi Pad tablet is still away from making its entry to Indian tech space. According to the reports of Techradar, vice president of company, Hugo Barra has stated that its first ever tab is not firm's agenda for India and it's not coming to country anytime soon. As yet, this China based electronics corporation has announced its Redmi Note 4G and Redmi Note for domestic market, which have been claimed to go on sale by December.

Discussing about this upcoming handheld, which had seen light of the day at an event, which was held in Beijing in June 2014. Apparently, brand is also working on a cheaper alternative of Mi Pad. Well, gadget bears a 7.9-inch QXGA IPS Retina display that delivers pixel resolution of 2048x1536p and pixel density of 324ppi. Apart from Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, it has been said to use sharp-made display which we have seen in Apple's iPad mini with Retina Display.

The comprisal of 2.2GHz quad-core Nvidia Tegra K1 SoC along with 192-core Kepler GPU makes the device quite promising. In terms of imaging, Mi Pad is outfitted with 8-megapixel rear shooter with a Sony BSI sensor alongside a 5-megapixel selfie snapper. On the connectivity front, it is arrayed with dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 4.0 options.

Rest of the specs include, 6700mAh Li-ion battery and Android 4.4 OS paired with MiUI. Notably, tablet has been designed in two storage variants: 16GB & 64GB that can be enlarged up to 128GB via a microSD slot. These two editions are available in China with price tags of CNY 1,499 and CNY 1,699 respectively, which are roughly Rs. 14,268 and Rs. 16,174. But, availability as well as pricing details for native market are yet-unseen.
