Everyone is familiar with Orkut. We all had experience the first social networking website in our past which became lost from few years. The 10 years old Orkut is finally going to shutdown because of its lack of users’ interest. Google’s early social networking website is finally all set to go down. It was getting lots of attention in past days and was the popular among users of India and Brazil.

Google has made announcement about to close the service which had almost been reached out of the field after Facebook’s grand success. Google posted on Orkut’s blog, "Over the past decade, YouTube, Blogger and Google+ have taken off, with communities springing up in every corner of the world. Because the growth of these communities has outpaced Orkut's growth, we've decided to bid Orkut farewell."

Orkut came in existence in 2004, the same year in which Facebook made entry in the social networking world. However, we are not cleared about users list of Orkut, as company has declined to say a single word on it. As the world relies on facebook, doesn’t take the old one for risk while there is more advanced social networking service is here. This might be the reason to shut down the service. The company has Google + web page which is getting huge visit every month.
