Intolerance Controversy Forces Snapdeal to End Contract with Aamir Khan

Sanapdeal, a popular e-commerce website will reportedly be ending its contract with its brand ambassador Aamir Khan. The undersigned contract in March 2015 is set to expire soon.

As per the reports, the company has not decided anything for the renew the contact with Aamir Khan, because of the star celebrity stuck by his own controversies about intolerance. Due to this company dropped out it's Rating.

Reviews on the App After Khan's Controversies On Intolerance

The Bollywood Actor was in the news on the social media in November last year, for his statement at the Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Awards, where he revealed that his wife had suggested that they should relocate from India. Soon after this statement, the well-known app received 1 star ratings on Google Play in reaction, and getting reviews under the hashtag AppWapsi. During this time slot, Snapdeal's app received over 20,000 1 star rating on Google Play on November 25.

The Actor said, "When I chat with Kiran at home, she says, 'Should we move out of India?' That's a disastrous and big statement for Kiran to make. She fears for her child. She fears what the atmosphere around us will be. She feels scared to open the newspapers every day. That does indicate that there is this sense of growing disquiet, there is growing despondency apart from alarm."

Amir Khan Removed From The Incredible India Campaign

After the Controversies made by Khan, Snapdeal had stopped using him in its ads. Before this, company had extensively featured Aamir Khan in its 'Dil ki Deal' print, television and digital campaigns.

The Ministry of Tourism and Culture event also came to over the ambassadorship with Aamir Khan for Incredible India campaign, earlier this month. For this campaign, tourism ministry was associated with Aamir Khan since 2009. Now, he was replaced by Amitabh Bacchan and Priyanka Chopra.
