After being in the rumors from last few weeks, the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer company has finally unveiled the flagship smartphone, dubbed as Asus Zenfone 5Z in the Indian market. Three smartphones in the ZenFone 5 series include ZenFone 5Z, ZenFone 5, and ZenFone 5 Lite were previously showcased at MWC 2018 this year in February - out of them only one smartphone has arrived in the Indian market till now. Previously, the smartphone appeared on Flipkart which reveals the launch date (4th July) of the flagship smartphone and also mentioned it would be exclusively available at Flipkart.
Asus has launched the ZenFone 5Z in three variants include 6GB RAM+64GB internal storage, 6GB RAM+128GB internal storage and 8GB of RAM+256GB internal storage which have been priced at Rs. 29,999, 32,999 and Rs 36,999 respectively. The deliveries of the smartphone will start from 9th July exclusively at Flipkart.
As a part of launch offers, Flipkart, E-commerce platform is offering a flat discount of Rs 3,000 particularly to ICICI credit and debit card holders on the purchase of Asus ZenFone 5Z. Other offers which have been listed on Flipkart include No Cost EMIs starting from Rs 3,334 per month, Reliance Jio cashback worth amounting Rs 2,200 and get 100GB Free Data on Rs 198/299 plan. The buyers can also avail the service benefits such as in, free pick-up and drop, invoice free walk-in and device swap at service centers, the company claims.
The Asus ZenFone 5Z features a 6.2-inch full-HD+ Super IPS+ display along with 18.7:9 aspect ratio. The much-rumored 5Z comes with Corning Gorilla Glass on the top which protects the smartphone from scratches and damages. It runs on latest Android 8.0. Oreo operating system and compatible with an Android P software update.
The smartphone comes with dual- SIM (nano) and both of the sims supports VoLTE connectivity. Under the hood, the smartphone has Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC bundled with an Adreno 630 GPU and up to 8GB of RAM and as much as 256GB internal storage with an option to extend further up to 2TB by using a memory card.
The Asus Zenfone 5Z features vertically positioned dual rear cameras which comprises the combination of 12MP Sony IMX363 primary sensor featuring an aperture of f/1.8 as well as Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and 8MP OmniVision 8856 secondary sensor offering an aperture of f/2.2, fixed focus lens as well as 120-degree wide-angle lens.
The rear camera set up accompanied by a single LED flash. Up front, the smartphone sport the same 8MP OmniVision 8856 sensor for capturing selfies and video calling, however, the selfie camera also has Face Unlock feature.
In terms of connectivity, the Asus ZenFone 5Z include 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4GHz/ 5GHz), GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, Bluetooth v5.0, USB OTG, FM radio, GLONASS, Beidou, USB Type-C (Gen1), and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Sensors on the board are the ambient light sensor, electronic compass, gyroscope, accelerometer, fingerprint sensor, proximity sensor, and RGB sensor. Under the hood, it is powered by a 3300mAh battery with the support of Quick Charge 3.0 technology and shipped with 18W charger. It measures 153x75.6x7.7mm and weighs 165 grams.
