B550 Xcover 3: A Feature Phone with Ruggedized Build by Samsung

It seems, South Korean giant has started a new campaign of designing rugged handsets to be the first choice of active-sports enthusiasts, field workers and adventure-seekers. And now, apart from upcoming smartphones: Galaxy Xcover 3 and a waterproof variant of Galaxy S6: Galaxy S6 Active, firm is also working on a rugged feature phone, called B550 Xcover 3 to bring a promising companion for budget-conscious outdoor-oriented consumers.

According to GSMArena, new creation of firm might be labeled with a price tag of EUR 99 that roughly translates to Rs. 6602.31 according to Indian currency and expected to be announced during Q2 of this year. However, this durable gadget is appended with a moniker: Xcover 3, but it comprises low-end specifications, while Xcover series phones usually come with better and eye-catching specs.

Discussing about the internal hardware, mobile phone has been claimed to be engineered with a SC7703A processor, but the clock-speed of processor and other details have not been mentioned by source. Notably, forthcoming gadget will feature a 2.4-inch display with a QVGA pixel resolution of 240×320p.

Memory-wise, it will be arrayed with 128MB RAM alongside 128MB of internal storage with microSD card support, but maximum storage capacity is yet-unknown. The inclusion of FM Radio, Bluetooth and 3-megapixel of rear camera is also rumored.

Well, the main USP of B550 Xcover 3 is incorporation of IP67 certification along with a 1,300mAh battery, which looks sufficient for various necessities. As yet, Samsung is tight-lipped about its next-iteration, so we will have to wait to get a detailed information about this mobile phone.
