Galaxy J8 Plus Spotted with Snapdragon 625 SoC, Android 8.0 Oreo

After the big launch of Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+, now the Samsung is working on affordable smartphones and planning to diversify its J- series smartphones during this year. As per the listings of Geekbench, the new smartphone has been spotted with the model number SM-J805G which is expected that will be the Galaxy J8 Plus. Previously in January, Galaxy J8 was spotted on Geekbench. It is speculated that the company might launch both of Galaxy J- series (Galaxy J8 Plus and J8) smartphones in the coming days.

A lot of rumors appeared previously on the internet regarding the specifications of Galaxy J8. It seems that Galaxy J8 and Galaxy J8 Plus will be available at low- cost as compared to other Samsung smartphones and it will be considered as the basic smartphone. The specifications of Galaxy J8 Plus model has been spotted on Geekbench recently.

According to the listings of Geekbench, the Galaxy J8 Plus will have a model number Samsung SM-J805G and runs on the latest operating system, Android 8.0 Oreo. An affordable smartphone will come with Android Oreo is definitely the highlighting feature of J8 Plus. The listings suggesting that the new smartphone will be embedded with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC, clocks at the 1.8GHz base frequency and Adreno 506 GPU.

Apart from the Snapdragon, the benchmark listing also advise that the Galaxy J8 Plus will have a 4GB of RAM. As such no detailed specifications regarding the J8 Plus have been disclosed by Geekbench.

The benchmark listing displays that Galaxy J8 Plus score nearly 749 points in single-core tests whereas 3708 points in multi-core tests. This providing hint that the J8 Plus will be considered a budget-friendly smartphone, simply that means it will be launched at an affordable price.

Nearly one month ago, we observed that Galaxy J8 was spotted at benchmarking site with the model number SM-J720F. As per the listings of Geekbench suggest that Galaxy J8 will be featuring a 5.5-inch display along with a screen resolution of 720x1280 pixels and might be equipped with an "at least 5 finger gesture support." The Galaxy J8 (2018) will be embedded with a Samsung's homegrown Exynos 7885 SoC, clocks at 1.6GHz CPU, paired with 4GB of RAM. In terms of optics, J8 will come with a 12-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for capturing selfies and video calling. Galaxy J8 might be equipped with a 32GB internal storage that can be further extender via memory card.
