Gionee Marathon M5 Plus Launched In India

The Chinese handset manufacturer Gionee had launched Gionee Marathon M5 Plus in China in December last year and now company has launched it for the Indian market at a price of Rs. 26,999. The Indian version of the handset has been optimized and installed with some new changes for much better performance.

One of the key highlights of the Gionee Marathon M5 Plus touted by the company back in December was the smartphone's long battery life. Gionee said that while the Marathon M5 Plus features a bit smaller 5020mAh battery when compared with the Marathon M5, as it now accompanies an optimized battery. The company has claimed that the Marathon M5 Plus battery retains 90 percent (4500mAh) of its original capacity after 600 charging cycles.

A few changes in the handset's product has also been made. The Marathon M5 Plus will now alert its users about applications that deplete the cell phone's battery. Quick charging technology has also been incorporated in the handset that can charge from zero to 100 percent in 117 minutes (1 hour 57 minutes).

The metal-body double SIM supporting Marathon M5 Plus has been shipped with Gionee's Amigo 3.1 OS based on Android 5.1 Lollipop. It has a 6-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) AMOLED display with a pixel thickness of 368ppi. The device has been fueled by an octa-core MediaTek MT6753 CPU clocked at 1.3GHz, combined with 3GB of RAM. The smartphone also has a whopping 64GB of inbuilt storage that can be extended through a microSD card (up to 128GB).

On the camera front, the Gionee Marathon M5 Plus houses a 13-megapixel self-adjust back camera alongside a 5-megapixel front camera. It has the dimension of 160.9x81.2x8.4mm, weighs 211.5 grams, and will be accessible in Polar Gold and Champagne Gold color variations. On the connectivity front, the smartphone offers 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS, and USB Type-C and additionally has a unique finger sensor for the enhanced security.
