HMD Global Started Rolling Out Android 8.0 on Nokia 3

Finnish company HMD Global has started rolling out Android 8.0 Oreo Software Update in India for Nokia 3 smartphone users. Juho Sarvikas, Chief Product Officer of HMD Global has posted on social media platform Twitter on Tuesday tweaked that the Android 8.0 Oreo update is now available for Nokia 3 users. The new software update would come with new features such as Picture-in-Picture mode and 60 new emojis and Android Instant apps which will help to make the optimum utilization of battery in Nokia 3 by limiting background app use.

Earlier this year in 2017, HMD global launched a Nokia 3 in India at a price tag of Rs 9,499 with availability at retail stores only. The Nokia 3 launched with Android 7.0 Nougat- out- of- the box. If the user wants to know whether the over-the-air (OTA) update is available in its region or not, then the user must have to visit Settings > About Phone > System Update. We should recommend you download the software update by turning on Wi-FI and the smartphone should have a minimum 50 percent of battery before installing the software update.

To recall, Nokia 3 is said to feature a polycarbonate body and metallic frame on the sides. It bears a 5-inch laminated HD display with the screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and protected with 2.5 sculpted Gorilla Glass on top. The smartphone is available in four color options: Matte Black, Silver White, Tempered Blue and Copper White.

Nokia 3 which is to be considered the most affordable smartphone being offered by HMD Global. It is powered by a 1.3Ghz Quad-core MediaTek MTK 6737 processor paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage, that can be further extended up to 128GB by using a memory card. In terms of optics, the smartphone has an 8- megapixel camera on both sides front and at the back. The rear camera comes with LED flash. It is fueled by a 2,650 mAh battery under the hood.

Sensors on the board are Accelerometer (G-sensor), ambient light sensor, e-compass, gyroscope, proximity sensor, NFC for sharing. In terms of connectivity, the smartphone offers USB OTG, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and 4G LTE connectivity.

The Finnish company has recently launched a trio of smartphones: Nokia 6 (2018), Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 8 Sirocco in India at a price tag of Rs 16,999, Rs 25,999 and Rs 49,999 respectively. All of three smartphones run on Android Oreo Operating System.
