Honor Play 8A Launched in China Featuring Water drop- shaped Display Notch

Huawei sub-brand Honor has launched the new smartphone in the China market with the title Honor Play 8A which was previously rumored to launch as the Honor 8A. At the official launch event, the company has revealed the detailed specifications of the Honor Play 8A. The newly launched Honor Play 8A is to be the successor of Honor 7A that was launched in the Indian market in the previous year. The key attractions of the newly launched smartphone have water- drop shaped display notch, octa-core MediaTek Helio P35 (MT6765) processor, 3GB of RAM and more.

Honor Play 8A Price

The Honor Play 8A comes with a starting price of CNY 799 (approximately Rs. 8,000) for the base 3GB RAM and 32GB storage variant and goes up to CNY 999 ( (approximately Rs. 10,200) for the high 3GB RAM and 64GB storage variant. At Vmall, it has been listed in various color options including Aurora Blue, Magic Night Black, and Platinum Gold. The shipments of the Honor Play 8A will start from January 9 in the China market. As of now, the company has neither revealed about the global launch event of the Honor Play 8A nor about the India launch event or its local availability.

Honor Play 8A Specifications

The Honor Play 8A comes with a 6.09-inch HD+ TFT IPS LCD that has water drop- shaped display notch on the top of the display. The smartphone offers the screen resolution of 720x1560 pixels and 283 ppi pixel density.The Honor Play 8A is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P35 (MT6765) SoC coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB internal storage which can be extended up to 512GB via microSD card. At the software front, the Play 8A from Honor runs on Android 9.0 Pie Operating System which is based on EMUI 9.0.

For the photography purpose, the company has offered a single rear camera sensor on the Play 8A that features 13MP sensor with an aperture of f/1.8 and phase-detection autofocus feature. An LED flash is positioned below the rear camera sensor as well as supports an automatic HDR feature. Up front, the smartphone has an 8MP camera sensor with an aperture of f/2.0.

For the connectivity purpose, the Honor Play 8A gets 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, MicroUSB 2.0, a 3.5mm headphone jack and dual-SIM (Nano). Under the hood, it is armed with a 3,020 mAh battery.
