HSL Mobile Launched First Ever Hammer Screen Smartphone

Today, HSL Mobile, launched its Y501 Plus model smartphone, in India. The smartphone has a specific hammer protected screen, which is being claimed as unbreakable even by the use of a hammer. The handset is a budget phone priced at Rs 3,999 and is up for sale via Snapdeal.

Naresh Yadav, Director, India of Consumer Experience, HSL Mobile Said, "We are very happy to introduce Y501 Plus in India which is specifically designed and developed keeping Indian consumers’ need for vernacular languages solution and a tougher screen at the centre." Speaking about company’s India market strategy, he said, “In India, we have chosen to serve our customers via e-commerce to be able to be effective and efficient while being extraordinarily affordable. We rely on word of mouth and customer advocacy."

The smartphone is highly equipped at Monkey Allowance. It has a 5-inch IPS HD display and incorporates 1.2GHz Quad-Core processor paired with 1GB RAM. It also sports 8GB internal storage (expandable up to 32GB). The phone is powered by a 200 mAh battery which ensures 18 hours of talk time. HSL Y01 Plus operates on Android KitKat and has a 5-megapixel rear camera, which incorporates autofocus, CMOS, an image sensor, self-timer, touch to focus, scene mode and ISO setting including LED flash along with 2-megapixel selfie camera.

HSL Y501 Plus has an inbuilt language translator that allows users to type in English and get the output in their mother tongue. The handset provides support for 21 Indian languages and is capable of translating the phone book from English to any of the 21 available languages. HSL Y501 Plus is a dual SIM smartphone with a weight of just 143 grams and comes with a screen guard and a flip cover.

HSL is offering 1-year touch replacement warranty and also stated that the company has already established more than 400 customer support centers in India. Actor, Preity Zinta is the brand ambassador of the HSL Mobile and will be actively associated with the promotion of Y501 Plus on digital media.
