Huawei Mate 9 With Android N and Leica Dual Camera Setup Launched

Huawei, the Chinese smart gadget manufacturing and developing firm is emerging with a great speed in this techno loving world. The company on Thursday has launched its new flagship smartphone dubbed as Mate 9 in Munich. The highlighting feature of the handset is its dual rear camera setup embed in collaboration with Leica.

Huawei will initially start rolling out the device in Germany, France, China, Italy, Kuwait, Japan, Malaysia, UAE, Thailand and Saudi Arabia at an estimated price rate of EUR 699 (Rs 51,600 approx). Rest of the countries will have to wait a bit to taste the cake according to the company. The company has also introduced a special Porsche design edition of the handset at a price tag of EUR 1,395 and a Fit activity tracker at the same event.

The new Huawei Mate 9 flagship smartphone features a 5.9-inch full-HD IPS display of resolution 1080X1920 pixels and runs EMUI 5.0 based on Android 7.0 Nougat. Powering the Android smartphone is an HiSilicon Kirin 960 octa-core SoC with four Cortex-A73 cores clocked at 2.4GHz, and four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.8GHz coupled with latest ARM Mali-G71 GPU and 4GB of RAM. The device also packs a fingerprint sensor at the rear side with a gesture support ability.

Concerning the optical part, the GSM-based handset comes with a ‘second-generation Leica dual-lens camera’ Paired with Leica. It packs a 20-megapixel monochrome sensor and a 12-megapixel RGB sensor with f/2.2 aperture. The camera is believed to be blessed by this combination for improved and enhanced color accuracy, contrast and depth perception.

Other camera features of the handset include optical image stabilization (OIS), Hybrid Zoom, dual-tone dual-LED flash, a Hybrid Autofocus system along with combined depth, laser, contrast and phase detection Autofocus systems. An 8-megapixel front shooter is also provided by the company with a f/1.9 aperture for shooting selfies.

Huawei Mate 9 is blessed with 64GB of inbuilt storage which can be further expanded up to 256GB via microSD card. Backed up with an adorable 4000mAh battery the dual-SIM smartphone also features a fast charging capability, that is able to keep your smartphone awake whole day in just 20 minutes of charge. It will be available in Space Grey, Moonlight Silver, Black, Champagne Gold, Mocha Brown and Ceramic White color variants.

Apart from this, the company has also introduced a Porsche design of the smartphone, that will be available only in Graphite black color variant, in European Porsche design stores in coming December. Huawei will start rolling out its special variant worldwide(except the USA) in January 2017 at selected retail stores of the company in Asia, Middle East, and Europe. The single-SIM handset will arrive with a 5.5-inch QHD AMOLED display, 6GB of RAM and 256GB of inbuilt storage.
