The very little known Kyocera, the Japan-based electronics manufacturing firm has launched a new smartphone dubbed as DuraForce Pro. The handset will be available in the US in the coming months. But unfortunately, the company has not revealed the exact pricing and availability details of the smartphone.
The main USP of the smartphone is its ruggedness. The phone gets certified with MIL-STD-810G that is rating to certified as dustproof, drop-proof and shock-proof. This certification also flags the protection against vibrations, temperature extremes, blowing rain, low pressure, solar radiations, salt fog, humidity, immersion, temperature shock and icing/freezing rain. The high-end smartphone is also certified with IP68 certification which is capable of resisting against water and can survive immersion in up to 2 meters of water for 30 minutes.
The device also bolsters a Super Wide View Action Camera with a 135-degree viewing angle. As for the specifications, the DuraForce Pro flaunts a 5-inch full HD display having a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels. The handset is fueled by a 1.5GHz Snapdragon 617 octa-core SoC processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and has the internal storage of 32GB, that can be further expandable up to 256GB via microSD card slot expansion.
For the photography point of view, it is loaded with a 13-megapixel camera at the rear end and a 5-megapixel front facing camera. The Kyocera DuraForce Pro is backed by a 3240mAh battery with Quick Charging 2.0 technology. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi with 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/r/k, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, Miracast and USB 2.0
The handset is blessed with a fingerprint sensor on the home button and supports glove and touch screen operations. This operation allows users to operate the smartphone with gloves or wet hand easily. Surprisingly, the Kyocera is offering a 2-years manufacturer warranty with the smartphone.
