LG G6 Price, Release Date Tipped in India

LG the leading South Korean electronics organisation is expected to unveil its flagship G6 smartphone on Monday. Pre-bookings of the smartphone have already started, and according to some reports by Mumbai-based retailer Mahesh Telecom, it will be available from April 29 with a starting price of Rs 51,990.

According to a tweet by Mahesh Telecom, April 29 is the date of stock availability which may not necessarily imply in-store availability. Moreover, Samsung is also going to sell its all-new Galaxy S8 flagship smartphone from 5th of May. Looks like two leading smartphone manufacturers are going to face a tough competition from each other. Both the flagships sport a nearly bezel-less design with an 18:9 aspect ratio and feature a fingerprint sensor at the rear panel. LG G6 is also claimed to be the first smartphone to come with “Dolby Vision”.

LG G6 has made its official debut at MWC 2017 and runs Android 7.0 Nougat. Concerning further specifications of the Android smartphone, it packs a 5.7-inch QHD+ FullVision display of resolution 1440 x 2880 pixels and a near bezel-less front with an 18:9 (or 2:1) aspect ratio. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC paired with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM.  It will be available in two memory variants- 32GB and 64GB, along with an option to expand its storage up to 2TB via microSD card.

In term of optics, the Dual-SIM smartphone is blessed with a dual-camera setup at the rear side, which includes two 13-megapixel sensors- one for wide-angle shots with 125-degree lens and f/2.4 aperture, and the other for regular shots along with the 71-degree lens and OIS 2.0. The company has also provided a 5-megapixel wide-angle lens along with f/2.2 aperture and 100-degree lens.

Connectivity options for the LG G6 GSM handset include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/as, Bluetooth v4.2, NFC, and USB Type-C 2.0 along with a support of LTE-A 3 Band CA network. It is backed up by a non-removable 3300mAh battery and will be available in Astro Black, Ice Platinum, and Mystic White colour options. Moreover, the new smartphone features a 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC (digital to analogue converter) for enhanced audio playback and has also passed the MIL-STD 810G military standard certification for better durability.
