Microsoft is discussing about its new updated Windows 8.1. This new version will not be completely different from the previous one. But major changes can be seen here. The company has revealed top five features that makes new version more funky and easy in access. These features have been elaborated below.

Cortana:

Cortana is Microsoft’s new technique that will beat Google Now or Siri. This feature will be added to Bing, this voice character will get activated and respond to the command of user by their voice only. Microsoft tremendously devoted it’s time in Cortana development. Cortana has been trained to understand the variation of speech patterns and language rules. This technique will also be able to respond the cryptic commands. Cortana will be context friendly.

This service manages all the services related to mobile phones like incoming calls, massages and also facilitates calendar appointments, reminders, searches and play music. It also stores reminders so that it informs your partner about daily jobs. Whenever you talk to someone, the next time it will alert you about calling the same person. Cortana also records online searches and calendar entries through your emails. Microsoft also claims that third party apps will access Cortana.

Word Flow Keyboard:

As Android has keyboard called ‘Swype’, similarly Windows Phone will introduce ‘Word Flow’. Microsoft claims that this keyboard will be the smoothest and the fastest one in the world. It will drag your finger across keys to form words.

Wi-Fi Sense:

Wi-Fi Sense is a new technique developed by Microsoft for its new Windows Phone 8.1. This feature enhances the capability of tracking user’s data consumption. It allows users to jump between various available hotspot networks without re-entering password. Once it stores the information about the networks, it automatically logins when hotspot asks for the credentials. It can also connect others with your private network, without sharing passwords with them. It also creates an atmosphere of healthy surfing to other devices without sharing any kind of login details. But the question is how will it work. Can’t be said anything about it. Microsoft hasn’t revealed this beautiful working of Wi-Fi Sense.

Universal Windows Apps:

Microsoft is also stepping up with the concept of Universal apps that are entering in the world of Windows Phone 8.1. There is a need to elaborate something about it. Universal Apps are the apps which are developed in the common code and would be able to get installed across various platforms of phones, tablets, and even at PCs and Xbox One. Developers have been also instructed for the customized apps that are being develop for various platforms and can be re-used on other platforms. This clarifies that the user has to purchase apps only once, and can be used at different number of platforms. Everyone knows about the shortfall of Microsoft apps faced by the Windows Phone users. This step will prove to be a positive approach for Windows app store.

New Start Screen and Action Screen:

Microsoft has also introduced a notification panel which is called as Action Center. It is core for all notifications like missed calls, text massages, pop ups from third party apps and more. It adds instant access to Bluetooth, WI-Fi, Airplane mode and more. Users can alter the apps to vibrate the phone or not. These are some unique changes that will be noticed in the new version of Windows Phone OS. But surely we can find more filtration in it. So have a nice experience with the new Windows Phone 8.1.
