Microsoft Plans to Bring Native Folder Support for WP8.1 Based Devices

Microsoft always looks ready to surprise the world with its several nice itty-bitty ideation. The company has come up with a new native folder support feature. Few weeks back it came with the Files App, and now it is set to come with some other feature, to make the device more accessible and usable. We all know that Windows Phone OS has a completely different appearance and interface design. Unlike iOS and Android, its applications have appeared in the tiles format.

But from now, Windows Phone users can take the benefit of native folder support. Before the announcement of Microsoft, it happened only in iOS and Android based device. This feature will let Windows phone users to drag one app over the other to create a folder, and it will also allow to rename the folder with any name and after that user can drag number of apps into the folder.

A support article has revealed about this new feature which found on Microsoft’s Windows Phone website that elaborates about to bring the folder support on the Start Screen of Windows Phone devices. The native folder support will be come with updated Windows Phone 8.1 based smartphones. The article has been deleted from the website now.

This feature was not available on the previous Windows Phone 8.1 devices. For accessing such feature, Windows phone users have to install Windows Phone 8.1 Update on their handsets. This update could be the first biggest update of the WP8.1 which may come up with some more new features. It is expected that it would take time to run on the Windows Phone 8.1 based smartphones.
