Moto G4 Play Announced To Launch in India on September 6 For INR 8,999

Motorola has announced the launching of its much-awaited smartphone Moto G4 Play in India, a lineup variant of previously unveiled Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus in May. The smartphone will be going on sale exclusively via Amazon from September 6. Unfortunately, the company has not revealed any pricing details of the smartphone.

Notably, the company still displays a 'Coming Soon' label on its US site. No pricing detail has been displayed on the company's site, but an import/export tracking website Zauba tipped an estimated price of Rs 8,999. According to the tipped price, the Moto G4 Play seems to bear a reasonable price chit as compared to its successor models Moto G4 at Rs. 12,499, and Moto G4 Plus, which starts at Rs 13,499.

As for the specifications, the Moto G4 Play flaunts a 5-inch HD display having a resolution of 720*1280 pixels. The GSM-based handset is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 SoC processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. On the software front, it runs on Android 6.0.1 Android based Marshmallow operating system out of the box. It is a single SIM smartphone and comes with a water repellent nano-coating.

Over the photography point of view, the G4 Play sports an 8-megapixel camera at the rear end with f/2.2 aperture and LED flashlight. The rear camera also receives some enticing features like tap anywhere to capture, burst mode, auto HDR, panorama, drag to focus and exposure and can record full HD videos at 30fps. The front panel bears a secondary camera of 5-megapixel with display flash on board. The Android-based smartphone by Moto bears a 16GB of inbuilt storage, that can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot expansion.

For the connectivity, the smartphone include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, A-GPS, and Micro-USB connectivity options. It will be available in both Black and White color variants in India and is backed by a 2800mAh battery and is claimed to offer a full day battery life. The smartphone is compatible with 10W rapid charger which is sold separately.
