Motorola Nexus 6 or Samsung Galaxy Note 4? The Battle between Two for Best

Google’s Nexus 6 is now out with specifications and price details. This is also the first Nexus smartphone by the Mountain View giant with bigger display. Company has directly jumped to the 5.96 inch from 4.95 inch of Nexus 5. Moreover, the size matches with the name also. This all has urged us to compare this with the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. The large screen which dragooned this device to be consider in the phablet segment which gives the impression of being a Samsung device.

All that mishmash and stuffs have jolted my mind to put both devices in the battle fray to compare their oddity and equality. We have tried to manage the comparison in both and penned out them for reaching at some conclusion.

Design, Display and Built

Motorola branded Google Nexus 6 is large enough with 5.96 inch AMOLED display and the 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution is also the improved one which never happened in Nexus history. However, this would make us uncomfortable to hold the device in hand. And for small hands, it’s quite inappropriate to use. It is also resembled with Moto X which is ample to put this smartphone in impeccably built segment. However, we have not gone through the hand-on, but the built innards remind one of the Motorola’s nicely-built devices.

Nexus 6 vs Galaxy Note 4: Design, Display and Built

On the other side, when going through the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, we have easily caught the teensy-weensy built which is not as jumbo as Nexus 6. The 5.7 inch Quad HD Super AMOLED screen with same resolution improves the pixel density and enhanced the screen quality also. The metal finish is capable to hold the crown of luxurious device with a feel of premiumness, but quite look like its predecessor. But, the Nexus 6 is not an inch away in the luxuriousness with curved edges.

Both have Gorilla Glass 3 coating, great in screen quality. So, which one placed on top in the Design, Display and Built battle is hard to find. However, I’ll go to Nexus 6 instead of Galaxy Note 4.

Camera

The camera sections in both devices are revamped. The Nexus 6 is increased its rear camera with 13MP sensor. On the other side, the Galaxy Note 4 has also improved the camera clarity with 16MP sensor. Both have added the OIS technology (Optical Image Stabilization). The newly launched Nexus smartphone has f/2 lens and the dual LED flash for capturing quality images. 4K video recording can also be done at 30fps.The front is complimented with 2MP camera which is okay for selfie and video calling.

Nexus 6 vs Galaxy Note 4: Camera

Hopefully, the Galaxy Note 4 stands high in this section with higher camera resolution and the same 4K video recording at 30fps. The front shooter is outstanding in this device and can easily beat the Nexus with its 3.7 megapixel resolution and wide-selfie mode to take group selfie. It’s just double in camera features also. So, here I’ll give the crown to Galaxy Note 4 for incredible camera and camera features.

Operating System and Battery

In the battery capacity, both were seemingly cut from the same cloth with 3,220mAh unit. Although Motorola is complimenting the device with Turbo charger is capable to honor the device with extra 6 hours of battery life. Thanks to Android 5.0 Lollipop which is also at the same place with power saving feature (Project Volta) to help apps and games to consume less battery power. Google has also claimed the 24 hours of backup. On the other side, the Galaxy Note 4 has Fast Charging, but still lacks at this point with no additional battery saving features.

Hard to find out and hard to pen out! Well, I’m still trying to conclude, but felling myself unvoiced to utter the benefits and pros of both. At one side, the Android L is stock platform with basic functionalities. However, it is advanced and improved overall with new UI and many other impressive features. Read the blog about all the remarkable features of Android Lollipop. On the other side, the Galaxy Note 4 with custom UI is loaded with several impressive and unique features to enhance the smartphone capability. The S Pen is also added more value to Samsung’s flagship which is not the part of Nexus 6.

Performance and Other Specs

Finding the difference according to performance becomes arduous because both perches on the same place with 2.7 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor and 3GB RAM. On the storage front, Samsung Galaxy Note 4 has the winning capability with the option of microSD card to store upto 128GB data while the Nexus 6 has no microSD card slot. However, it will come in 32 and 64GB storage variants to stand in the race where Samsung device has a single 32GB model.

Verdict

After knowing all the differences and similarities of both handsets, reaching to a conclusion for best one is still tough. On the one side, Motorola Nexus 6 with latest Android Lollipop OS is ready to show its excellence. However, the price of $649 is too big to get this. But, the outstanding features, ergastic battery and the Android version are somewhere asking us to give the winning crown to Google Nexus 6.

On the other side, we have Samsung Galaxy Note 4 which is loaded with compelling camera features, own TouchWiz UI and S Pen. It’s also in the line to get the Android 5.0 update which will make it the best and more alluring. MicroSD card slot and the same in battery are also good enough for snatching the winning crown from Nexus 6. However, Nexus 6’s waterproof nature puts it on top which is absent in the Note 4. So, the decision is yours, which one you will be making the King of smartphone world?
