Nokia made a comeback with the launch of its three Android OS based smartphones dubbed as Nokia 3, Nokia 5, and Nokia 6. With the launch of these new Android smartphones, the company is undoubtedly playing well in this new segment. Apart from the three smartphones, there are some reports in the market that HMD Global, the parenting company of Nokia is working on a high-end gadget, which is highly expected to be called as Nokia 8. Moreover, recently a new leak came out of the blue that the upcoming handset may launch on July 31, 2017, in India.
As per the reports from a German website named ‘WinFuture’, HMD Global will launch its new flagship as Nokia 8 on July 31 in the country. The early rumours in the market pointed that the company is working on two new high-end smartphones named as Nokia 8 and Nokia 9, both of which are going to be launched in the second half of 2017. As of now, there are not any kind of leaks or reports came to light regarding Nokia 9, but the recent leak hints at the arrival of new Nokia 8 flagship smartphone in India.
The report further details that the handset will come with a model number TA-1004, and will be focusing to target the flagship smartphones of other companies such as Apple, Samsung, Google, or any other. In term of specifications, the GSM handset is said to be powered by the Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 processor coupled with 4GB RAM and 64-GB inbuilt memory space. Moreover, according to the reports, the new smartphone is expected to be available in two variants including a Dual-SIM smartphone variant and a Single-SIM smartphone variant.
Furthermore, the report adds that the Nokia 8 is believed to arrive with a price tag of EUR 589 (Rs 44,000 approx). The price is reportedly for the European markets, whereas other countries around the world are believed to get the handset at a cheaper price. As of now, there is no confirmation of the handset, that whether it will be made available in India or not. But, looking at the past relation of Indian people with Nokia and the arrival of new Nokia Android smartphones in India increases the probability, hence, HMD Global may launch its flagship smartphone in the country.
The Nokia 8 has already been subjected to many leaks and rumours in the smartphone market. According to the previous leaks and rumours, the upcoming smartphone is believed to be blessed with a 5.7-inch 2K display and will be seen running the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS. In term of optics, the handset is expected to pack a dual rear camera set up, which will be including two 13-megapixel sensors coupled with a dual LED flash.
From the three recently launched Nokia branded Android smartphones, the Nokia 3 has been made available in the market and is still receiving an overwhelming response in Indian smartphone market. Moreover, the company has also started pre-bookings of its Nokia 6 smartphone exclusively via Amazon, whose sale is going to start from August 23 onwards. Apart from this, HMD Global has not revealed any word on the availability of its Nokia 5 smartphone, but keeping the rumours and leaks in mind, the handset might arrive sometime around 15th August in the market.
