OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition has been launched in the Indian market on December 12. The key highlights of the smartphone include 10GB of RAM and the company’s owned new fast-charging technology, titled as Warp Charge 30. The OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition comes with a carbon fibre pattern which is positioned below the glass on the panel. Furthermore, the famous McLaren Papaya Orange color can be seen at the bottom edge of the smartphone.
In India, the newly launched OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition comes with a price tag of Rs. 50,999 for the 10GB RAM and 256GB storage model. It must be noted that McLaren Edition has been launched only in one 10GB RAM and 256GB storage model. It will be available for purchase from December 15 at Amazon India and OnePlus India official website. It will also be made available at OnePlus exclusive offline stores in key cities. It must be noted that the McLaren Edition is a slightly costlier than the regular 8GB RAM/ 256GB storage Midnight Black variant that was launched at a price tag of Rs 45,999. The OnePlus 6T will also be available for purchase in a special sale on 13th December at the OnePlus Experience Store in Connaught Place, New Delhi.
OnePlus stated that on the celebration of 5th-anniversary launch offers on OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition will be applicable for a limited period of time from December 15 to December 24.
These include, a cashback of Rs 2,000 is available on all EMI transactions on purchases made via Axis Bank cards. Furthermore, Axis Bank Credit and Debit cardholders can avail the cashback of Rs. 1,500 on OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition which is applicable at all offline and online platforms as well as no-cost EMI option for up to 6 months is also available at Amazon.in
All OnePlus exclusive offline stores and OnePlus India website will be offering an additional benefit of Rs. 3,000 in exchange for any old OnePlus handset. Let’s talk about the design of OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition, it comes with a black color carbon textured pattern positioned below the glass on the rear side. Furthermore, it comes with a logo of McLaren in Papaya Orange color positioned at the bottom edge of the device.
OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition will be shipped with Warp Charge 30 technology along with a knitted Papaya Orange Color cable. Warp Charge 30, as the name suggests the smartphone has been equipped with a 30 Watt charger for fast charging capabilities which is touted to render a single day power only in just 20 minutes of charging. However, the regular variant has been equipped with a 20W charger.
The retail box of OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition will come with a McLaren logo, titled Speedmark which has been created with McLaren F1 AA-grade carbon fibre - the same material that has been used in the McLaren MCL33 2018 Formula 1 car.
The OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition and OnePlus 6T standard variant shares similar specifications excepting 10GB of RAM and the Warp Charge 30 unit.
The OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition comes with a 6.41-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display along with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone offers a 1080x2340 pixels resolution, support for sRGB (100.63 percent), DCI-P3 color gamuts and peak brightness of 600 nits.I. On the top, the smartphone has Corning Gorilla Glass 6 which protects the screen of the device from scratching and damaging. The smartphone comes with a water drop- shaped notch on the top of the display that boasts a three-in-one ambient light sensor, distance, and RGB sensor, as well and selfie- shooter. As a part of the software, McLaren Edition of OnePlus 6T runs on latest Android 9.0 Pie skinned with OxygenOS.
Under the hood, there is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC. For storage, the smartphone gets massive 10GB of RAM and 256GB internal memory. One must note that the device does not support memory card.
As far as camera specifications are considered, OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition packs dual sensor on the rear side. It includes 16MP Sony IMX519 primary sensor offering an aperture lens of f/1.7 and 1.22-micron pixels and 20MP Sony IMX376K secondary sensor featuring an aperture of f/1.7 and 1-micron pixels. It has the capability to shoot 4K video at 60fps as Super Slow Motion Video (1080p at 240fps and 720p at 480fps). A dual- tone LED flash sits below the rear camera set up. The rear camera set up comes with the support of OIS and EIS features.
On the front side, OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition has a 16-megapixel Sony IMX371 sensor with an aperture of f/2.0 and 1-micron pixels. The front camera is capable to record 1080p video at 30fps and 720p video at 30fps and EIS is also available on it.
The device has been equipped with Nightscene for low- light photography. Through Nightscene, feature users can capture brighter photos even during low-light conditions.
The device supports 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802ac (dual-band, 2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth v5.0, NFC, GPS/ A-GPS, and a USB Type-C (v2.0) port as connectivity options. For good sound audio experience, the device has been equipped with Dirac HD Sound and Dirac Power Sound. It packs a 3,700mAh battery coupled with Warp Charge 30 for fast charging. It is touted to render a one day of power to the device only in 20 minutes of charging, claims company.
For the security purpose, the McLaren Edition comes with under- display fingerprint scanner and facial unlock feature which helps to unlock the device in just 0.34 and 0.4 seconds respectively.
