Oppo, the Chinese tech giant, had launched the A5 smartphone in India about 8 months back. The key highlights of Oppo A5 included dual- rear cameras, 19:9 aspect ratio, AI-powered capabilities and bundled with a 4,320mAh battery.
At the time, the smartphone was only available in 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory variant. Now, the company has silently brought another variant of the smartphone in India i.e. 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory.

Under the hood, it is powered by a massive 4,230mAh battery which can be rated to deliver up to 14 hours of video playback, 11 hours of gaming only in one charge. The Oppo A5 has a glossy finish design on the back panel.
The 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory variant Oppo A5 during the launch was available at the price tag of Rs 14,990. Now the same variant costs Rs 11,990.
The 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory variant smartphone can be grabbed at just Rs 12,990 i.e. Rs 1,000 more than the base variant.
The Oppo A5 will be available for purchase only on offline retail stores across India. The buyers can choose the Oppo A5 from Blue and Rose Gold (Mirror Pink) color options.
The budget segment Oppo A5 features a 6.2-inch HD+ LCD display with 19:9 aspect ratio and the screen resolution of 1520×720 pixels. On the top, the smartphone is protected with a 2.5D curved corning glass.
The smartphone has a notch on the of the display that houses front-facing camera, LED flash and speakers. It runs on advanced Android 8.1 Oreo layered with ColorOS 5.1. The smartphone packs a capacity of 4,230mAh battery.
In terms of hardware, the Oppo A5 has an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC clocked at 1.8GHz along with Adreno 506 GPU. It is bundled with 3GB / 4GB of RAM and 32GB / 64GB of internal storage which can be extended further up to 128GB by using a microSD card.
In terms of photography, the Oppo A5 packs dual rear camera setup which includes a 13MP primary sensor with an f/2.2 aperture and 2MP secondary sensor with an f/2.4 aperture. At the front, the smartphone carries an 8MP camera along with AI technology 2.0 for selfies and video calling.
