A few months ago Realme has separated from Oppo to make its own image in the smartphone segment. After the separation from Oppo, Realme has launched the Realme 2 in India which is a successor of previously launched Realme 1. Realme 1 comes with a starting price of Rs Rs 8,990 in India.
While addressing at the launch event of Realme 2, Madhav Sheth, Chief Executive Officer of Realme India had teased that the upcoming Realme smartphone launch event is scheduled in the month of September.
Realme has sent the invites to press media for the launch event which is to be scheduled on September 27 where the company would unveil the Realme 2 Pro in India. It seems that Realme 2 Pro is an elder sibling of Realme 2 which comes with improved specifications.
The teaser invites reads, “We Are Back 2 Surprise You” in which "2", "Pr", and "o" characters are highlighted in Red color. The highlighted red characters in a teaser invite pointing toward Redmi 2 Pro.
At the Realme 2 launch event, Sheth stated that the Realme 2 Pro will be available under Rs 20,000 and features improved design and advanced chipset.
The specifications of the Realme 2 Pro are not available at the moment but it is confirmed that pro version could come with high- end processor and improved design than the Realme 2.
To recall, the Realme 2 has a 6.2-inch HD+ display with a notch which offers 19:9 aspect ratio, 88.8 percent screen to body ratio which company claims one of the highest screen-body ratio available in an affordable smartphone. It comes with a diamond-cutting design on the rear panel and manufactured with the scratch resistant 12-layer nano-tech material.
The Realme 2 has dual cameras, a fingerprint scanner on the rear panel. Under the hood, there is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor coupled with Adreno 506 GPU.
The Realme 2 is equipped with AI Gaming Acceleration which enhances the performance while playing games on the smartphone. The smartphone supports dual- SIM cards and one micro SD card. It is armed with a 4,230mAh battery that helps to manage apps running in the background.
In terms of optics, the Realme has offered dual- cameras on the rear panel which consists of a 13MP primary sensor and a 2MP secondary sensor. Up front, the Realme 2 gets an 8MP selfie snapper integrated with AI-powered features which the company claims capable to recognize 296 facial points. It runs on Android 8.1- out-of-the-box based on top of the line ColorOS 5.1.
The Realme 2 has launched at a starting price of Rs 8,990 for base 3GB RAM+32GB internal storage variant and goes up to 10,990 for high 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage configuration.
Currently, it available in two color options including Diamond Black and Diamond Red exclusively at Flipkart via flash sale, whereas the Diamond Blue color of Realme 2 is expected to be unveiled at the beginning of October.
