Redmi Note 7 Launched in India Sans 48MP Rear Camera

Finally, Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Note 7 in India at an event which was held in Delhi. The Redmi Note 7 was first launched in China in January 2019 and is the first smartphone under the Redmi sub-brand.

The Redmi Note 7 comes in India with changes in it i.e. the smartphone dropped the 48MP camera. Xiaomi India is more aimed at the smartphone segment and has been teasing its upcoming flagships launch on social media from weeks.

In an interview, Xiaomi India MD, Manu Kumar Jain said that about the smartphone that it will be a “game changer device.”

Along with the Redmi Note 7, Xiaomi also launched the new Redmi Note 7 Pro device. By the launch of Redmi Note 7 Pro, the Pro variant has debuted globally which has many changes and updates as compared to the original including different primary camera sensor and a more powerful processor.

Availability, pricing and launch offers on the Redmi Note 7 in India

The Smartphone Carries The Price Sticker As Per Different Variants-

1. For 3GB of RAM and 32GB of ROM variant, the Redmi Note 7 carries a price sticker of Rs 9,999.

2. While for 4GB of RAM and 64GB of ROM variant, the Redmi Note 7 comes with a price tag of Rs 11,999.

The smartphone will be available in three colour options-

        • Onyx Black
        • Ruby Blue
        • Sapphire Blue

The first flash sale of the Redmi Note 7 will begin at 12 PM IST on 6 March 2019. The smartphone will be available on Mi.com, Mi Home stores, and Flipkart.

It will also be available through selected offline retail stores soon. In the launch offer, the company will offer an “ultra-slim” case and a perforated case will come with INR 349. Airtel will offer up to 1,120GB along with unlimited calling and Airtel Thanks benefits.

Specifications of the Redmi Note 7

The Redmi Note 7 features a 6.3-inch full-HD+ screen with the screen resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels and with 19.5:9 aspect ratio, Gorilla Glass 5, and tear-drop style notch. Under the hood, the smartphone carries Qualcomm's Snapdragon 660 octa-core SoC.

In terms of the optics, the Redmi Note 7 at the back features dual camera setup that comes with a 12MP primary sensor (with 1.25-micron pixels) with a 2MP depth secondary sensor. While in China the smartphone carried a 48MP Samsung ISOCELL GM-1 primary sensor and a 5MP depth secondary sensor. At the front, the smartphone sports a 13MP front shooter for selfies and video calling which is the same as the China version. To provide the users with better smart beauty features, portrait mode, and scene recognition support, there is a camera app on the smartphone which uses AI (Artificial Intelligence).

The Redmi Note 7 comes packed with 3GB and 4GB of RAM along with 32GB and 64GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card slot. The smartphone also packs a capacity of 4,000mAh battery along with Quick Charge 4.0 support. The device has a fingerprint sensor at the back, USB Type-C port, and 3.5mm audio jack. The handset has dual-SIM support (hybrid).

In terms of the connectivity, the smartphone comes with Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 5, and Infrared. The Redmi Note 7 runs on latest 9 Pie out of the box OS with MIUI 10.

Xiaomi and Samsung are the rivals and are having the neck to neck competition. So the Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro will be the trump for Xiaomi in India as Samsung will also play its card and will offer affordable smartphones in the market with attractive specifications which will be somehow inspired from the Xiaomi.
