Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Launched In India

The South Korean smartphone manufacturer Samsung has today launched the Galaxy Note 8 in India at an official event at 12:30 pm IST in New Delhi. The  Galaxy Note 8 India launch live stream was made available on the official website of the company and also on its YouTube channel at the scheduled time. Based upon a recent report, the company sources hinted that over 2.5 fans in the country have registered to buy the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 - 1.5 lakh have registered on the Amazon India website and 72,000 pre-bookings taking place on the very first day of the registrations. Samsung Galaxy Note 8 India launch will clash with the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X launch event scheduled for later tonight.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 specifications, features

In terms of specifications, The dual-SIM (Nano-SIM) Galaxy Note 8 runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system and is juiced by a 33300 mAh battery with wireless charging.The handset comes with 6.3-inch Quad HD+ AMOLED display with the resolution of 1,400 x 2,960 pixels and this is the same Infinity Display on the S8 series. It is powered by a Snapdragon 835 SoC or a Samsung Exynos 8895 SoC, with the latter variant expected to be made available in India - the Exynos processor has four cores clocked at 2.3GHz and four at 1.7GHz. The handset includes 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB internal storage which can be further expanded up to 256GB via microSD card.

On the Camera front, the Galaxy Note 8 comes with a dual rear camera setup has dual OIS, 12-megapixel sensor sporting a wide-angle lens, Dual Pixel AF, and a f/1.7 aperture, while the second one comes with 12-megapixel sensor has a telephoto lens with autofocus and a f/2.4 aperture. For the selfies and video chats, the front camera has an 8-megapixel sensor with autofocus and a f/1.7 aperture.

Connectivity options include 4G LTE support, dual-band (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v5.0, USB Type-C, NFC, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and MST. Sensors on board the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, fingerprint sensor, barometer, digital compass, gyroscope, heart rate sensor, RGB light sensor, an iris sensor, and proximity sensor. The handset has three biometric unlocking features - fingerprint scanner, facial recognition, and an iris scanner.
