Samsung Unveiled New J Series in Line Up - Galaxy J5 Prime and Galaxy J7 Prime

Samsung launched successors of their previously launched J series in the country under the name of Prime series as the company recently revealed two J Prime series smartphones on Monday. The two smartphones named the Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime and Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime carrying the price tags of INR 14,790 and 18,790 respectively.

While the Prime series is an upgraded version of J series and will likely to add some of the value to its specifications. As per reports, the Galaxy J5 Prime Android smartphone comes with new generation feature of a fingerprint sensor on the home button. Apart from safety feature, the Galaxy J5 Prime can be expanded to a storage size of 256GB via microSD with a 16GB inbuilt storage.

The device boots on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS and is a Dual-SIM phone with Nano-SIM card support. It features a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) display and is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core SoC that’s coupled with 2GB of RAM. The GSM handset additionally is fueled by a 2400mAh battery which is considerably less than the previous J5 that featured 3100mAh battery.

As for the optics, there is a 13-megapixel rear camera with a f/1.9 aperture and LED flash, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with a f/2.2 aperture. There is some connectivity feature like Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, FM, and 4G. Dimensionally, the handset measures 142.8x69.5x8.1mm and carries a decent weight of 143 grams.

S Power Planning (a reserve battery technology for when the battery is running low) and S Secure (allowing users to lock/ hide apps and more) are two other notable features that are included along with stock features on both the Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime and Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime smartphones.

Coming to the successor of Galaxy J7 is the new Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime which sports a full-HD display of 5.5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) IPS display with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 4 for extra protection. Under the hood, the device is powered by a 1.6GHz octa-core processor coupled with 3GB of RAM.

Optics in the device are a 13-megapixel rear camera with a f/1.9 aperture and LED flash and an 8-megapixel front camera with a f/1.9 aperture also on board. The user can expand the default 16GB inbuilt storage up to 256GB via microSD.

The connectivity features packs 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, GPS/ A-GPS, Bluetooth v4.1, Micro-USB (with OTG), and 3.5mm audio jack while the smartphone is fueled by a 3300mAh battery.
