Sharp Aquos Zero Launched in Taiwan

Sharp, Japan-based multinational company has launched a new smartphone, dubbed as Aquos Zero with great features. Currently, it has been launched in Taiwan market, while it was initially launched in the Japan market. Now, the device is making its appearance in other countries outside of Japan. Apart from, Aquos Zero the company has also announced Aquos R2 Compact which is the first device in the world that features two notches on the display panel.

Aquos Zero from Sharp is developed with a beautiful design that has magnesium alloy frames on both sides and the company has offered fiber material on the rear panel. The device is light in weight and durable that weighs 146 grams only and in that weight it is the world’s first lightest smartphone that features a 6-inch screen, claims company.

Sharp has offered trendy notch design on the Aquos Zero instead of water drop- shaped display notch. The Sharp Aquos Zero comes with a 6.2-inch QHD+ display that offers 2992 x 1440 pixels resolution. It features a Dolby Vision HDR image technology and DCI-P3 wide color gamut. On the top, the device has a 3D-curved Corning Gorilla Glass 5 which protects the device from scratches and damages.

In terms of optics, the Sharp Aquos Zero has a single 22.6MP super wide-angle lens on the rear side. The rear camera setup comes with great features such as anti-shake (read optical image stabilization) and an aperture of f/1.9 for shooting videos. Up front, the smartphones get an 8MP selfie snapper with an aperture of f/2.2. As of now, it is not clarified whether the front- camera supports anti-shake feature or not. But, both the rear and front camera sensors come with Artificial Intelligence powered capabilities which helps to detect scene while capturing photos.

The Sharp Aquos Zero is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage. Notably, the smartphone does not support microSD card. For the security purpose, it is being certified with IP68 rating for water and dust resistant. It runs on Android 9 Pie-out-of-the-box.

The Sharp Aquos Zero packs a 3,130 mAh battery with two charging ICs which protects the device from overheating during heavy usage or multitasking.

The fingerprint scanner is placed on the rear side of Sharp Aquos Zero as well as support Dolby Atmos. For the connectivity options, the smartphone gets single SIM, NFC, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.0, and GPS.

The Sharp Aquos Zero comes with an official price tag of $648 which will be available for purchase from January 15. It must be noted that the device has been launched in Taiwan. The customers who would order the phone before the end of February will get a free Bluetooth headset as a gift.
