Xiaomi Beats Samsung in Terms of India Sale

As per the recent reports, it is discovered that Samsung is facing stiff competition from Xiaomi in terms of selling the smartphone, particularly in India. In 2017, both Canalys and Counterpoint have confirmed that Xiaomi beats Samsung in aspects of selling the smartphone in India during the fourth quarter of 2017. Additionally, CyberMedia Research (CMR) also published its Mobilytiks report in the same period and mentioned that Samsung gets defeated from Xiaomi in the smartphone market in India. 

The figures reported by CMR, From the total sales, 13.7 percent share account is a part of sales of all Xiaomi smartphones and this figures specifically for Maharashtra. According to CMR Mobilytiks report, it is discovered that 31.2 percent of Xiaomi smartphones had been sold by the company in the fourth quarter of 2017 in Maharashtra whereas Samsung sold 15.3 percent smartphones in Maharashtra.

The sales of Xiaomi smartphones were pick-up by the popular Redmi Note 4. CMI Report further added that Mi Home stores had been opened by the Xiaomi in the months of October and November 2017. As per the report of CMR Mobilytiks, “Xiaomi opened two Mi Homes in the state during the months of October and November 2017. This strengthened its presence and access in the state. In January 2018, it opened its third Mi Home in the state in Thane “

As for Other Top 5 Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), CMR reported that Vivo had secured the third position along with a 15 percent share, whereas Oppo was in the fourth position along with a 12 percent share and Lenovo including Motorola secured the fifth position along with a 12 percent share. All of the five companies which comprises Xiaomi, Samsung, Vivo, Oppo and Lenovo together is accounted for 84 percent share in terms of selling smartphones specifically in Maharashtra during the fourth- quarter of 2017 in India.

The reports further added that complete net subscription addiction was fell down in the fourth quarter of 2017 in India due to Rcom and Aircel, most of the smartphones were upgraded or replaced by the companies during that period.
